Drivers report that the location is easy to find, right off the Interstate and close to lots of shopping restaurants, and a gas station. Most of the area's top attractions are within an easy drive, too: it's about 15 minutes to downtown, and 20 to Churchill Downs.
The hotel offers some smoking rooms, and cigarette odour is frequently sited as an issue by non-smokers.
Though many describe the rooms as comfortable, recent guests also note that the decor is beginning to show its age and is showing some wear, such as stains in the carpet and soft furnishings. The walls may be ready for repainting and some maintenance issues with the plumbing and appliances have also been reported.
Annoyances such as long waits for refills at the buffet, housekeeping oversights, and overbooking (or overcharging) have earned the hotel a few poor reviews.
