As the name suggests, the hotel is located in the highly popular Shinjuku area of Tokyo. The Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building is a five-minute walk away, while places such as the Golden Gai, Gyoen National Garden and Kabukicho are 20-minutes from the hotel on foot. In addition, the hotel is directly connected to Shinjuku Station, which makes it easy to explore further afield places.
Direct transport to the airport
If you are not comfortable with traversing the subways, the Shinjuku Washington is one of the very few hotels in Tokyo that benefits from the Airport Limousine bus traveling directly to and from both Narita and Haneda airports. Along with being very convenient, it is also inexpensive compared to certain alternatives.
A common complaint from previous guests about the Shinjuku Washington is the compact nature of the rooms. However, most have said that this didn't overly disrupt from the general comfortableness of the rooms.
Can get noisy
The rooms, according to a small minority of past visitors, can filter in a disruptive amount of noise from other guests staying at the hotel.
Room temperature hard to control
As the room temperature cannot be fully controlled, some guests have complained that their rooms at the Shinjuku Washington got too warm. Plus with the windows locked - you need to request the staff to open them - lowering the temperature can be deceptively troublesome.
