Positive Reviews

A sparkling clean property with stylish decor

Travellers are generally charmed by this cosy and unique property, noting the building is a former shop house that has been very tastefully renovated. The rooms are described as very clean and simple, with many thoughtful touches such as reusable water bottles and original artwork. The shared bathroom facilities are also described as very clean and adequately equipped for the number of guests using them.

Top marks for hospitality

The owners of the property are widely described as being very kind and welcoming, eager to share their knowledge of the city with new visitors. Guests often comment that their hosts' genuine hospitality is also reflected in the complimentary coffee, well-equipped kitchen and free laundry machines available on site.

A brilliant location for seeing the city sights

Guests generally love the hotel's location near the UNESCO old town centre, commenting that most of the historic sights and museums are within easy reach on foot, though there is a stop for the free city bus close by as well. Kimberley Street (famous for street food) is just a few steps away, as are many restaurants and cafes.

Negative Reviews

Quiet, please...

Guests note that this older building is not particularly well sound-proofed; footsteps and normal speaking voices carry easily throughout. For this reason, the owners kindly request that all guests observe certain 'quiet hours'. Disappointment can occur if fellow travellers are disrespectful of this rule.

Some rooms are small with no windows

Although guests are appreciative of the overall standards on offer at this George Town hotel, some of the rooms are found to be a little on the small side. The lack of windows in some rooms has also proved rather disappointing.
