Positive Reviews

Super location near Salamanca

The big attraction of this hotel for guests is its excellent location. You have easy access to Salamanca markets and the shops and restaurants around. You are also not far from the city centre of Hobart and have supermarkets nearby to stock up on provisions.

Good value accommodation

If you're not looking for luxury accommodation, you should be satisfied with what this hotel offers. OK - it is basic, but you are not paying the earth either. Guests say you have everything you need for a very reasonable rate. The place is spotlessly clean and the rooms are spacious and comfortable.

Nice mountain views

The lovely views over Wellington Mountain from your window could more than make up for the lack of frills. Guests appreciate the beautiful sights from three sides of the building.

Negative Reviews

Disruptive renovations

The hotel seems to have been under renovation for an eternity with no end in sight. “Renovation in progress” seems to be a huge understatement, as the whole place has been turned upside down and resembles a building site. Whilst guests acknowledge that they have been informed of the renovations, and that they are necessary, they do still have a detrimental effect on their stay. Rooms are not finished and in a poor state.

Poorly-equipped apartments

Guests choosing a self-catering option are frequently disappointed by the standard of their accommodation and the lack of facilities. There are no microwaves or toasters and you may even lack basic essentials, such as pots and pans and utensils.

Bad sound insulation

As well as the din from the renovation works, guests often complain that they can hear everything going on in neighbouring rooms and from the lobby. You are also right next to a busy road and have to contend with traffic noise.
