Positive Reviews

Hard-to-beat location

Travellers agree that this property's location in the heart of buzzing Tsim Sha Tsui is undoubtedly its best feature. Guests really appreciate being on the main drag (Nathan Road), and love having a metro station directly across the street. Being a short walk away from the harbour is also considered a huge bonus.

Negative Reviews

Chaotic, dingy atmosphere

The vast majority of travellers who book a stay here are entirely unimpressed with the vibe of the commercial tower block (Chungking Mansions) in which the hotel is set. In addition to being dirty and smelly, reviewers say this confusing and chaotic building is home to countless other budget hotels and hostels, many of which seem to transfer bookings between themselves without letting bewildered guests know beforehand. Travellers also complain bitterly about the rather intimidating touts and hawkers who roam the lobby area, day and night.

Very small rooms

The highly compact nature of the guest rooms is an issue which features in many visitors' reviews. Travellers say the accommodations here are so small, even a double or triple room is only just about large enough for one guest. Some reviewers say they have to sit on the toilet in order to take a shower.

Just one small lift

Travellers are bemused to find out there's only one small lift on hand here to serve all 16 floors of this vast tower block. Disgruntled reviewers say waits of half-an-hour or more are common, and that locals and residents often feel entitled to push in the queue.
