Positive Reviews

There is easy access to great value dining

The upside, guests say, to having a noisy restaurant as a near neighbour is that the food they serve is terrific. Their Cantonese dishes are also well priced, so guests have high praise for what is on offer there. They are thankful, too, that it is so close by and seems to be almost like a part of the hotel.

Friendly staff

Members of staff here are reportedly very friendly and do everything possible to assist their guests.

The city centre ferry is an enjoyable novelty

Guests are pleased that the hotel is well removed from the centre of Hong Kong. They also love the fact that it is a leisurely ten-minute walk to the ferry pier, and from there it is a 30-minute ferry trip to the city centre. Many guests, though, say that the cheaper, slower, ferry option is more interesting and adds yet another dimension to the visit.

Negative Reviews

Noisy neighbours

Guests complain that noise levels start to rise from early morning when the neighbouring restaurant swings into action for breakfast. This activity continues throughout the day but is particularly noticeable during the late evening as guests try to sleep. When the restaurant eventually closes, it seems to be a very short period of time before the noises resume.

Rooms can leave something to be desired

Plumbing problems and faulty toilets are among the room defects reported by guests. More generally, there appears to be a lack of any cleaning regime and over time grime has built up on some surfaces, including the floors. Even the bed linens can look and feel unclean, guests say. There are also reports of poor Wi-Fi connectivity.
