Heritage and History

If there’s one thing that guests noticed about this hotel, it was the incredible atmosphere. Most travellers agree that despite renovations, the hotel has retained its historical feel and authenticity. Some added that it felt like a museum, especially with the gorgeous antique furniture.

In the Midst of Old Town

According to guests, this hotel is ideally situated in the heart of Ipoh’s Old Town district. Most major local attractions, such as the art murals, can be walked to quite easily. Guests who were arriving or departing by train appreciated that the hotel was so close to the Ipoh Railway Station.

Guests felt very welcome here from the moment they arrived. The hotel’s owners' are said to be incredibly warm and accommodating. They are also reportedly a great source of tourist tips and local secrets.

Problematic Parking

While there is free parking next to the hotel, it is located across from a very busy street, and this was a bit of a problem for some travellers. Even with a traffic light, crossing the road was said to be a challenge. In addition, guests said the parking lot can get very cramped and cars can be parked in when the hotel is full.

No Lift

Guests warn that you will need to climb some stairs to access the rooms. The main staircase is a narrow spiral one, which is reportedly a challenge with a suitcase. However, some guests found a second (standard) staircase that is much easier to navigate.

Traffic Noise

Guests who booked the street-facing rooms noted that traffic noise can be an issue, as the hotel is located next to a busy road. According to travellers, those wishing for some peace and quiet are advised to book the garden-facing rooms.
