MET A Space Pod @ Boat Quay brings the Japanese pod hotel concept to the very heart of Singapore, allowing guests to enjoy budget accommodation in a stellar location.

It will come as no surprise to learn that each bed is a self-contained pod, or capsule, that allows guests privacy in a dorm like setting. Each cosy pod is equipped with its own TV, air conditioning and even window facing the inside of the dorm room.

There is a small lounge with a big flat screen TV where guests can socialise, or maybe use the kettle and microwave to make a quick drink or snack. Free Wi-Fi is accessible throughout the property.

A simple self-service breakfast is available every morning. There are plenty of restaurants and bars in the area for the other two meals, especially along nearby Boat Quay.

MET A Space Pod @ Boat Quay is in the heart of the Singapore CBD. Chinatown, a great destination for shopping and dining, is just 13 minutes away on foot.

Positive Reviews

Incredible location right on Boat Quay

Guests were simply amazed by the location of the hostel. It was described as being in the very heart of the city, right on Boat Quay. Guests felt that they were in the centre of the action, and had all the dining, shopping and nightlife they cold want within easy reach.

Comfortable pods and beds

The actual sleeping pods received high marks from guests. They liked that it came equipped with a TV and power sockets, but were perhaps most impressed with the quality of the bed, which they said provided great comfort - allowing for a good night’s rest after a hectic day in the city.

Pods are kept immaculately clean

Guests were very impressed with the standard of cleanliness at the hostel. The pods themselves were said to be perfectly clean on arrival, with daily cleaning keeping them that way for the duration of a guest’s stay.

Negative Reviews

Not good for meeting people

Guests who had been hoping to meet and socialise with fellow travellers here were a bit disappointed. They reported that this hostel wasn’t really set up for this, with limited communal areas to socialise and many guests either out or within their private pod.

Pod air conditioning is ineffective

Although the pods do have their own air conditioning or fans, guests found that these did not work very well. The building itself is kept cool, however the pod itself was said to get a little stuffy and warm.

Breakfast was a bit disappointing

The in-house breakfast was said to be a bit disappointing. Guests reported that they were not only expected to make it themselves, but also clean up completely afterwards. Aside from this, it was also said to be far too basic to generate any enthusiasm.
