About Stamford Museum

Stamford Museum houses a wide range of artefacts that tell the story of this town. Whilst some of these items are over a thousand years old, others are more modern including the Stamford Tapestry. The Stamford Tapestry took 17 years to make and was completed in 2000 for the Millennium. It depicts the history of the town in a carefully woven woollen tapestry.

The museum is open Monday through to Saturday from 10am until 5pm and from April to the end of September it is also open on Sunday between 1pm and 4pm. Entry is free. The museum is fully accessible to disabled visitors and much of the information is available in Braille.
