Positive Reviews

Spacious, elegant rooms.

The Mount Somerset Taunton offers a range of elegantly decorated rooms with a well-balanced mix of antique wood furniture and vibrant, colour-themed soft furnishings. Rooms are extremely comfortable, very spacious and immaculately clean. En-suite bathrooms are also spacious, up to date and very well-maintained.

Discreet, professional service.

The level of service from the highly trained staff is excellent and professional. Attentive service is both discreet and polite with a high level of efficiency with no request is too big or too small to be seen to. Spa staff are also well-trained and motivated.

Fantastic spa facilities.

The spa facilities that are available at the Mount Somerset are not only luxurious but also large and spotlessly clean. The attending staff members are highly-trained and provide an exceptional level of service. Spa facilities are also at the top end of the range.

Negative Reviews

Not all rooms with views.

It is important to note that not all rooms offers views of the gardens and surrounding countryside. If views are of particular importance it may be wise to enquire before committing a booking or ask for an upgrade upon inspection.

Noisy hydrotherapy pump.

Perhaps a small point for most but attention still needs to be drawn to the fact that the hydrotherapy pump operates at what some would consider a high volume which is something that can be quite distracting.

Soundproofing issues.

There is a clear lack of adequate soundproofing in some rooms, particularly those rooms closest to the stairs where many guests have complained about noise. One can easily hear other guests coming or going as well as conversations between staff members.
