Eraeliya Villas and Gardens is situated near Weligama, on Sri Lanka’s southern tip, an up-and-coming destination adored by surfers and beach lovers. The hotel is located two hours from Colombo and 45 minutes’ drive from the historic UNESCO World Heritage Site of Galle Fort. Lapped by the warm waves of the Indian Ocean, our sandy beach offers swimming and surfing in season, and the offshore coral reefs are excellent for snorkelling. Local highlights include whale watching cruises and visits to tea and spice plantations. Some of the experiences that can be enjoyed in our local area include surfing, fishing, sailing and whale watching cruises, and we can arrange beach yoga, revitalising massages and cooking classes at the hotel. We also organise excursions to some of Sri Lanka’s stunning natural and cultural attractions, both in the local area as well as further afield. These may include shopping and sightseeing trips to the enigmatic Galle Fort, visits to Sinharaja or Kanneliya rainforests, a visit to a gem mine or a day trip in search of elephants and leopards in either Uda Walawe or Yala national park.
